Hi there!

We are thrilled that you are considering ResQ! At ResQ we always want to start relationships off on the right foot. We understand that joining a team is one of the most important decisions you’ll make, and adding a team member is one of the most important decisions we’ll make. We want you to get to know us, our values, and how we think of the world. We want to understand how you approach problems, learn, treat others and what motivates you.

As a first step, we’d love to share with you how we intend to act, grow, and scale by creating a culture of excellence at ResQ. Our vision is to ‘create economic empowerment in the services industry.’ Our culture defines the journey we take in the quest to achieve our vision one day. We believe that with the right people, values, and attitudes aimed at achieving high standards, we can create a generational company with a culture of Freedom, Togetherness, and Responsibility; instead of a culture of complicated rules, processes, and politics.

ResQ values should be well understood by everyone from candidates in the interview process, to all team members and managers working at the company. It should be used as the foundation for making all decisions including hiring, performance management, promotions, and when parting ways with people.

It’s important to understand that we do not position ourselves as a family, rather we’re like a pro sports team. With pro teams come high standards, continuous improvement, high performance, and caring deeply about your team.

We believe strong teams are built around the idea of Freedom, Togetherness, and Responsibility, which are our cultural norms. As one team, we work hard to win together or we’ll all lose together. You have to have the highest degree of trust and compassion among team members. We aim to hire the best, do everything to develop our team, raise our standards every day, and cut smartly if we have to. There is no ego or bureaucracy here. The only things that matter are impact and attitude.

Managers are coaches in our professional sports team. They are responsible for embodying our highest standards in themselves, and their teams. Leading by example is an important personality characteristic of a ResQ manager. Managers achieve great outcomes by setting the appropriate context, and fostering innovation, rather than by trying to control or micro-manage people. Living our value of ‘extreme ownership’ means that if there isn’t a fit, then it’s our job to give open feedback on why a decision is being made. It’s our pledge that if it comes to it, we will give above market severance and, where possible, act as references to support you on your journey ahead.

If your goal is to do career defining work and be a part of a talented mission-driven company that is continuously learning, iterating, and drawn to solving challenging problems with a People-first mindset, we’d be delighted to share ResQ with you!
