While we are never perfect, we have aimed to build a process that fosters fairness and helps to minimize bias, this includes structured processes and interviews. Our goal is that everyone interviewed has a positive experience, regardless of the outcome. Each position at ResQ will require a different set of interview stages, the below path is an example of what that could look like.

Stage 1️⃣

Send us your resume and a note about how your story connects to ours. Feel free to focus on what you have learned rather than just a list of responsibilities. Tell us your story! We’ll aim to tell you quickly if it is not the right fit so you are always informed.

Stage 2️⃣

Successful candidates will meet with our People and Talent Lead. It will be standardized to keep things fair but also with enough room to show your uniqueness. We’ll communicate the salary range now for full transparency. If you like us and we also think there is a fit, we’ll invite you to the next stage.

Stage 3️⃣

A call with the hiring manager/team who will ask you more in depth questions about your experience and skills. Come with questions! If this call goes well and we both want to move forward with each other we will ask you to move forward to the next round which is a values interview.

Stage 4️⃣

This stage will be a 45 minute values interview with a few members of the ResQ team. We will get an understanding of what motivates you and how you work and align to ResQ’s values. This will also be a good opportunity for you to meet other ResQers from different departments.

Stage 5️⃣

For Engineering roles, this would be a live technical round. For other positions, this could be a take home assignment that we ask you to complete or it could just be a final round with our CEO, KJ!  The process will be confirmed on your initial call.

Stage 6️⃣

WOOHOO YOU MADE IT🎉! This is the most exciting part of the interview process because it’s the OFFER stage! During this stage, we will share the offer details with you. This will be conditional based on a successful background and reference check.

ℹ️ Additional information about the interview experience:

• All Toronto based candidates will be invited into our downtown Toronto office for one stage of the interview process. We think this is a great way to showcase our culture and get to meet you face to face! It will also give you an opportunity to get to meet other team members in the office and see what our office culture is like. We have loads of snacks 🍪 and coffee ☕️ to share with you!
• Most USA 🇺🇸 interviews will be done virtually over Google Meets unless the manager is located in your home city, in which case we will have you come in for an in person interview at our local office space. The rest of the interview process will be done virtually.
• Our Interview process for our Tech team may be a little bit longer and require one or two additional steps in the process depending on how senior the role is.
• We thrive on being transparent, so if you have a question… just ask, we are an open book! We aim to ensure that we are fitting the right candidates with the right jobs and want to ensure we see a long term fit for both of us! 🫶
